VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON S. WASHINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTE 1) WIDENING IN THE TOWN OF ASHLAND
Public invited to learn more about the proposed widening project on April 22
The new enhancements will allow for improved safety and accessibility
SOUTH CHESTERFIELD—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing on a proposed widening project for S. Washington Highway (Route 1) between Arbor Oak Drive and Ashcake Road in the Town of Ashland. The project includes widening of the half-mile stretch within the project limits, as well as the construction of new left turn lanes, raised medians and sidewalks.
The meeting will be held on Monday, April 22 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the VDOT Ashland Residency, located at 523 N. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until May 2 by mailing them to Adam Brooks, project manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834-9002. Comments can also be emailed to [email protected]. Please reference “Route 1 Improvements in Ashland” in the subject line.
