VDOT News - Northern Virginia

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Tuesday, September 5, through Saturday, September 9
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Wednesday, September 6
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 East and West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge painting. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 50 West or Route 50 East.

Wednesday, September 6
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole inspection. Traffic will be directed to use the ramp to the Nutley Street South roundabout, then stay to the right to Nutley Street North. 

Thursday, September 7
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole inspection. Traffic will be directed to Route 50 West, stay to the right to the I-66 West ramp, then stay to the right and follow signs to Route 50 East.

Thursday night, September 7, and Friday night, September 8
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South   
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left and follow the roundabout onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.  

Friday night, September 8, and Saturday night, September 9
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.
