VDOT News - Northern Virginia

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Monday, March 13, through Saturday, March 18
Ramp from Braddock Road/Walney Road to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for drainage installation. Traffic will be directed to take Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay right to the Route 28 North ramp, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Wednesday, March 15, through Friday, March 17
Ramp from Braddock Road/Walney Road to Route 28 South 
The ramp will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge inspection. Traffic will be directed to Westfields Boulevard to reach Route 28 South. 

Wednesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 16
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South  
The ramp will be closed both nights from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge inspection. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 29 Centreville, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 North, then follow signs to Route 28 South.

Wednesday night, March 15, through Friday night, March 17
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West   
The ramp will be closed from each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday night, March 13, through Friday night, March 17
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

Thursday night, March 16 
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for light pole installation. Traffic will be directed to continue on the CD lane to the ramp to Route 286 North, stay right to the I-66 West ramp, then stay right and follow signs to Route 286 South.
