Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges June 19-24 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Monday night, June 19, and Tuesday night, June 20 
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South. 


Monday, June 19, through Thursday, June 22
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North   
The ramp will be closed each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for inspections. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North. 


Wednesday, June 21, through Saturday, June 24
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.


Wednesday night, June 21
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West
   
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Wednesday, June 21, through Friday, June 23
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for inspections. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.


Wednesday, June 21, and Thursday, June 22
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road

The ramps will be closed both nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for inspections. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. Drivers headed to Braddock Road/Walney Road will then stay left and follow signs to that exit.


Wednesday, June 21
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 29 Centreville, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 North, then follow signs to Route 28 South.

 

Friday, June 23
Ramps from I-66 West to Nutley Street North and South 
The ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail Station, stay to the right to Country Creek Road, continue onto Virginia Center Boulevard to the Nutley Street traffic signal, then turn left to travel north or turn right to travel south.

 

Saturday night, June 24
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for light pole installation. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and follow the roundabout onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.


Monday night, June 19, through Friday night, June 23
Ramps from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South to I-66 East
The ramps will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for milling and paving. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, exit to Route 50 East, then stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 East.


Monday night, June 19, through Friday night, June 23
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 123 North and South
The ramps will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for milling and paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Nutley Street, follow the ramp and roundabout to Nutley Street North, stay to the right and to the loop ramp to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 123 North and South.
