Overnight Lane Closures on I-66 East in Centreville This Week, May 11-14, for Overhead Bridge Beam Installation
FAIRFAX – I-66 East approaching Stringfellow Road in Centreville will be reduced to a single travel lane during the overnight hours Wednesday, May 11, through Saturday, May 14, as bridge beams for a new access ramp for the future I-66 Express Lanes are installed. Eastbound I-66 traffic will be directed into a single lane behind barrier onto new roadway nightly during this time. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Drivers traveling on I-66 East during this time should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.
Details include:
Wednesday, May 11, through Saturday, May 14
I-66 East from east of Route 28 to Stringfellow Road
- I-66 East will be reduced to a single travel lane Wednesday and Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- All eastbound traffic will be directed into a single travel lane and diverted behind barrier onto new roadway.
- All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. weekdays and by 6 a.m. on the weekend.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
