Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges, October 3-9, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Thursday night, October 7
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 28 North, stay to the left to Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal onto Braddock Road West, follow signs to turn left to the ramp to I-66 West, then take I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville.
Monday night, October 4, through Thursday night, October 7
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, and stay to the right to Route 28 North.
Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for crews to implement a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday night, October 6, and Thursday night, October 7
Ramps from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North and South to I-66 East
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Route 286 North traffic will be directed to continue north past I-66, exit to Route 50 East, then continue on Route 50 for about two miles to I-66 East. Route 286 South traffic will be directed to exit to Route 50 East prior to the closure, then follow signs to I-66 East.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
