Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, August 29 - September 2, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 28 North, stay to the left to Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal on to Braddock Road West, follow signs to turn left to the ramp to I-66 West, then take I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville. (Note: This closure will not occur on night(s) when the detour route is not available due to other closures.)
Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 29.
Thursday night, September 2
Ramps from I-66 West to Route 28 North and Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for a traffic switch. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. Drivers traveling to Braddock Road/Walney Road will then stay left to the left exit to Braddock Road/Walney Road.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
