Access to I-66 East from Route 29 (Lee Highway) Ramps in Centreville Changing on or about Sunday Night, May 16
Left-turn lane from Route 29 North to I-66 East to reopen; Access from Route 29 South to I-66 East to shift for about three weeks

FAIRFAX – The left-turn lane and ramp from Route 29 (Lee Highway) North to I-66 East is planned to reopen on Sunday night, May 16, and will be followed by closure of the ramp from Route 29 South to I-66 East for a three-week period. During the closure, drivers on Route 29 South will access I-66 East a short distance farther south on Route 29 by turning right at the traffic signal to the ramp from Route 29 North to I-66 East.

Trucks, trailers, and other multi-axle vehicles are encouraged to use Route 28 North to access I-66 East  while this change is in place.

The left-turn lane and ramp from northbound Route 29 to I-66 East in Centreville have been closed since January to allow continued construction of new I-66 bridges over Route 29. The bridges are being widened, lengthened, and raised to accommodate future transportation improvements at the Route 29 Interchange

Drivers should expect additional construction-related detours and traffic changes as work progresses.

Construction and lane closure updates are available at Transform66.org and on Twitter @VDOTNOVA.
