ROUTE 603 (LOMBARDY ROAD) IN KING AND QUEEN COUNTY OPENS AFTER MAINTENANCE PROJECT
Work to improve structure over Tastine Creek is complete ahead of schedule
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 603 (Lombardy Road) in King and Queen County is open after work to improve the structure over Tastine Creek is complete ahead of schedule.
The bridge is located between Route 14 (The Trail) and Route 609 (Iris Road).
Lombardy Road closed March 27 and anticipated to remain closed until early summer to allow crews to repair bridge scour. Scour is the erosion of soil around a bridge's foundation.
With the road open to traffic, the detour has also been lifted.
According to a 2022 traffic count, Lombardy Road carries about 200 vehicles a day.
