DAYTIME MCBRYANT ROAD ACCESS CLOSING IN CAROLINE COUNTY MAY 1-4
Motorists should follow posted detour between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews replace a pipe underneath the road

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – On Monday, May 1, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close daytime access to Route 655 (McBryant Road) near Saddle Swamp in Caroline County for a four-day pipe replacement project.

The project is expected to be completed on Thursday, May 4, weather permitting.

During the project, drivers will be detoured around 3 miles from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily using the following routes:

  • Route 655 (McBryant Road)
  • Route 654 (Moores Mill Road)
  • Route 656 (Dry Bridge Road)

Crews will be replacing a drainage pipe underneath McBryant Road.

Message boards will be placed during the middle of next week, to alert motorists to the upcoming road closure the following week.
