CAMP ROAD NOW OPEN IN CAROLINE COUNTY
VDOT state forces have completed a project that installed a larger box culvert to replace several deteriorated drainage pipes
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 677 (Camp Road) in Caroline County has reopened to traffic at the bridge over Herring Creek, following completion of a state forces project to install a concrete box culvert.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews replaced two deteriorated 5-foot concrete pipes, installed in 1964, with a single 8-foot by 6-foot concrete box culvert. The larger box culvert will improve drainage on Camp Road.
The detour for Camp Road has been lifted. The road had been closed to through traffic since the project began in December 2020.
